I’m Alex Gerrard — a former professional rugby league player who competed in Super League, a business founder and the person behind GLOPEX Asset Finance.

My business journey started in 2017, midway through my professional rugby career, when I founded a car finance company. Building a business alongside playing professional sport gave me first-hand experience of balancing pressure, responsibility and ambition.
Having recently exited that business, I’m now focused on GLOPEX and helping like-minded people move their businesses forward.

Running a business means making decisions every day: managing cash flow, funding the next opportunity and working out how to grow. I understand the commitment that takes because I’ve built a business myself.
Through GLOPEX, I help clients explore finance for working capital, acquisitions, property, vehicles and specialist assets. My starting point is always the same: understand the person, the business and what they want to achieve.
I also offer business consultancy, helping people work through challenges, consider their options and identify practical next steps. That could mean discussing day-to-day cash-flow pressures, an acquisition opportunity or the decisions that come with building and growing a business.
Professional sport and business have shaped the way I work: preparation, resilience, straight talking and a commitment to the people around me. That’s the approach I bring to every conversation at GLOPEX.
